Papertrey September Blog Hop

Finally, I'm able to get back to participating in a Papertrey blog hop...this summer has been so busy that I've not had the chance to do very much at all...and even now I'm still getting back into the swing of things, now that my kiddos are both back in school.

Today's challenge has to do with repetition. I just happened to have a card that I recently made for my grandma's birthday...because she is a wonderful seamstress and has made quilts for my kids in the past, I loved the idea of making her a "quilter's" card...I'm not much of a sewing-oriented person myself, but as I was looking through some of PTI's older sets, I saw Quilter's Sampler and it made me think of her, so I had to have it! (not to mention that the sentiments that go with it, along with the Quilter's Sampler Sentiments, are so cute!)

First, I impressed my cardstock with the Gridlines impression plate, to have a guide (and hopefully, to have a little added texture...though I soon found that after stamping the blocks you could no longer really see the impressed design very well. oh well.) I stamped a repetitive design with all of the blocks in the set, then added lots of sparkle and coloring with Stickles, a Copic glitter marker and a Zig metallic marker.

To complete the quilting feel, I stamped the sentiment onto a cardstock block, then impressed it with the Gridlines impression plate.

Here are the results:
