Well, it's been quite awhile since I posted. If I had a giant following, people may have wondered where in the heck I disappeared to! This being my first summer since I started blogging and participating in online paper crafting challenges more seriously, I've had to come to a startling conclusion...summer is NOT conducive to my crafting! First, we were away on vacation for two and a half weeks (not to mention the week's worth of time it takes to even begin to get back to a normal routine after being gone that long!) Then, my kids aren't in school! Gah! How is a mom supposed to craft with no alone time during the day! I'm quickly realizing that summer time is just not going to be my most productive time, crafting-wise. I don't know how other moms do it, and if anyone has some hints, I'd be most obliged! :)
However, in spite of my crafting crisis, I did manage to sign myself up for the Summer Card Camp Online 2011 card class. I missed participating the whole first week because we were still on vacation (though I can't much complain about being on vacation, now can I?
And that pesky week of slowly getting back in the routine I mentioned...that's this week, and today is now Thursday, and it's really the first chance I've had to sit down and even begin to look at these lovely card class pdfs and figure out how to jump in! So, with the Thursday evening deadline rapidly approaching, I have ONE WHOLE card to share. Better one than none, right? ;)
Oh, and I forgot to mention what happens to my mojo when I haven't crafted in almost 3 weeks...apparently it's like any other muscle...when you don't use it, it gets lazy! I had to really struggle with this week's color combination and sketches. Hopefully this will begin to get me over the hump and back to creative land! :)
I have not yet had the time to watch the wonderful technique videos...I'll try to create some more this weekend and get a card or two more up before the Sunday deadline.
So here's my week 2 card using the colors from week 2:
